Taichiro Nakai Cabinet in Maple and Mahogany
Taichiro Nakai, cabinet, metal, glass, brass, maple and mahogany, Italy, 1953 This cabinet by Nakai consists of five compartments, supported by a metal frame that has a zig-zag structure. The warm tone of the mahogany and maple builds a striking contrast with the black metal frame which runs all the way up the cabinet. Each compartment features a different composition with a variety of glass shelves, drawers and doors. A vertical structure is used as decorative finish for these doors, creating an interesting aesthetic in combination with the large brass handles.
