Giuseppe Rivadossi, pair of cabinets, oak, glass, Italy, 1975.

An exceptional library unit by the Italian sculptor and designer Giuseppe Rivadossi, featuring a high level of craftsmanship in woodwork. The two pieces combined create a wonderful wall unit which offers plenty of space to display books and other personal belongings. A playful composition is created by the arrangement of different open and closed compartments. For instance, the upper part of the unit contains eight compartments furnished with oak and glass door panels. A variety of frame sizes create an elegant and playful entity. Four compartments of the lower cabinets contain closed door panels and therefore extend the storage possibilities. This extraordinary piece is established by intensive hand-planed and trimmed finishes characteristic for furniture design by the hand of Giuseppe Rivadossi. Altogether, this unit will bring great joy to every bibliomaniac with a keen eye for Italian Mid-Century design.

Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he still lives and works. At a young age, Rivadossi's path begins with wood carving, with works reflecting on his poetic idea of living. In 1962 Rivadossi took over the carpentry founded in 1920 by his father Clemente, which he transformed into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. Eventually, Rivadossi and collaborators established 'Officina Rivadossi' in 1976 where he started the manufacture of wooden objects and unique modern furniture.

Please note that the width measurement is based on the size of the two cabinets combined.
