Adrian Pearsall Grand Boomerang Sofa Upholstered in Luxurious Pierre Frey
Adrian Pearsall, 'Boomerang' sofa, reupholstered in "Louison" Perle by Pierre Frey, walnut, United States, 1960s
This boomerang sofa has a distinctive shape with a clear geometric structure, creating a monumental and inviting look. The left-facing sofa is a great addition to a living area, it vibrates a contemporary, cosmopolitan look. It holds the middle between bohemian and country house. Think cozy autumn nights by a fire. The upholstery is chosen by our team of design advisors and the choice for this luxurious Pierre Frey complements this timeless design. Above all, the sofa is not a shy piece, so it is not for the Minimalist minded. The walnut base with small legs support the substantial body.
Adrian Pearsall (1925-2011), trained as an architectural engineer, was a sailor and interior designer. In 1952, Pearsall opened his own furniture company Craft Associates. Pearsall designed some of the most sensuous, gracious midcentury design pieces around, sharing many of the design aesthetics by Vladimir Kagan. His pieces are characterized by flamboyant curves, upswept shapes and stretched proportions.
